AWARENESS TRAINING OF STAKEHOLDERS ACROSS THE 17 LGAs ON DEMAND CREATION FOR THE BASIC HEALTH CARE PROVISION FUND (BHCPF).

The Basic Healthcare Provision Fund was established by the 2014 National Health Act to provide free health care services to all Nigerians, particularly the over 83 million vulnerable people.

The Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency was created by the Rescue Administration under the leadership of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, the Rt Hon Dr Simon Bako Lalong KSGG, CON as a gateway towards achieving this objective. The BHCPF was flagged-off on March 31st, 2021, and beneficiaries have since commenced accessing care. However, the level of awareness among beneficiaries is low. It is on this note that the Agency embarked on Demand Creation Drive for the BHCPF to create awareness thereby increasing utilization of healthcare services.

The Stakeholders invited and trained include; the Plateau State Primary Healthcare Board, the Local Government Health Educators, the State National Orientation Agency and Officers of the NOA across the 17 LGAs, the 325 Town Announcers in the 325 State wards, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers in the 17 LGAs, the Directors of Health in the 17 LGAs, the National Health Insurance Authority and PLASCHEMA LGA/Ward Coordinators.
